Biography

Mary Josephine was the daughter of Michael Shiel and Alice McNally She married Frank Decatur in Boston in 1882. She married Mark Bogues in Brookline in 1904.

Miss A. Shiel, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. M. A. Bogues, will return to Boston this week.^[2] Mrs. Owens and daughter Miss Helen Owens' of Brockline, Mass., are in town for two weeks guests at the home of Mrs. Owens' sister, Mrs. M. A. Bogues ^[3]

NORTHFIELD NOTES Mrs. Mark Bogues fell in her home Saturday evening and X-rays disclosed a compound fracture of the hip. Mrs. Mabel Holly is caring for Mrs. Bogues. ^[4]

Mrs. Mark Bogues, 77, died Wednesday noon August 25 1937 at her home on Water Street. Although lame for some time her last sickness was caused from a fall about three weeks ago when she fractured her hip. Mary Josephine was the daughter of Michael Shiel and Alice McNulty. She was born in Salmon Falls, N.H., and was married 33 years ago to Mark Anthony Bogues, and they since resided in Northfield. The deceased is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Lorrance of Winthrop, Mass., and Mrs. Joseph Owens of Brookline, Mass., besides her husband. Funeral services were held at 9 o'clock Saturday at St. John's Church, with the Rev. R.F. Joyce officiating. Interment took place at Mount Hope Cemetery.^[5] The bearers were Peter Flood, Elmer Duprey, Sylvia Tardiff, Raymond Wynne, James Aiken and D.P. LeFebvre. Relatives in town for the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Owens and daughter, Miss Helen Owens, Brookline, Mass., Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Lorrance and sons, Francis and George, Winthrop, Mass., Mr. and Mrs. Henry B. Lynch, Brighton, Mass., and Harvey Bogues, Sturgis, Mich., Mr. Bogues' son.^[6]
