The witness at Elizabeth's wedding, Edward Sergent, could be her brother. There was an Edward Sergeant, son of John and Elizabeth, baptised on 14 Nov 1764, in Barrow^[1] However, FreeReg doesn't record this baptsim, despite having many Sergeants listed (including one, Molly, baptised on same day.) If this is the correct family, several ancestry family trees have the parents as: John Carter Sergeant (1734-1796) and Elizabeth Parker (1738-1788)
