I have just started searching in recent weeks for Scott ancestry in the Mid-Atlantic States, USA and back to the British Isles. I am very clear on ancestry back to my 4GGF, Henry Kay Scott originally of Halifax County, North Carolina and eventually residing and living out his life in Henry County, Alabama. I am not so certain about heritage beyond that point, although there are more than a few suggested family trees. I plan to do a DNA test, and one sister of mine did both autosomal and mitochondria tests revealing British Isles ancestry via autosomal and material link to R1a1a2 (i.e. Caucasus region).
