Biography
Her birth year is unknown. Her father owned both the Harperrig & Clerkington estates so it could have been at either manor.
It is stated that she was first married to James Scott of Vogrie, uncle to Sir John Scott of Scotstarvit, and had issue by him. It would appear that she married Richard Lauder when he was about 40 so a 1st marriage for her seems possible. [1]
On 4th December 1660, Mary or Marion Scot, wife of Richard Lauder of Haltoun, was still living[2], and she is mentioned elsewhere in 1685 as still living.
