Biography

Grace was a Friend (Quaker)

Grace's marriage to Thomas Benson on 13 June (Quaker 4th month) 1660 was recorded by Brighouse Quaker Monthly Meeting.[1][2] They had the following children:

  • Thomas, born at Gildersome near Leeds on 4 October (Quaker 8th month) 1662[3][4]
  • Judith, born 5 January (Quaker 11th month) 1664/5 (1665 in modern reckoning)[5][6] She died on 17 January (Quaker 11th month) 1664/5, and was buried at Morley, Yorkshire.[7]
  • Ruth, born at GIldersome, Yorkshire on 11 February 1665/6 (1666 in modern reckoning)[8][9][10]
  • Rachel, born 18 November (Quaker 9th month) 1670[11][12]
  • William, born at Gildersome near Leeds on 23 August (Quaker 8th month) 1668.[13] His father is named as Thomas in one of the copies of his Quaker birth record.[14][15]
  • Elizabeth, born 20 December (Quaker 10th month) 1676 at Gildersome near Leeds.[16][17][18]

Grace died on 12 October 1715, and was buried at Morley Quaker burial ground near Leeds, Yorkshire on 15 October.[19][20]
