HI Geoff,

You must be back from holiday by now :) Given your confirmation that this http://runciman.lornahen.com/lineages/p62953.htm does look familiar, can we help you in anyway to get the rest of your family here onto WikiTree? We would also LOVE to welcome you to the RUNCIMAN Surname DNA Project. We've had a couple of more successes in linking trees this year.

Happy to expound further, and help in anyway we can.

Howdy!

Just checking in to see how things are going :)

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree with one profile per person. The farther back you go, it's likely you will find existing profiles to link into so it's important to do a thorough search before adding someone!

Do you have Royal Ancestors? If so, they are already here! Please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their already existing profiles.

WikiTree strives to be a fun, collaborative, productive site. It's also different than what many people are used to. Please take advantage of the Help Menu in the upper right hand corner, and of course, our Mentors :)

Do you have questions I can help with?

Eowyn ~ Mentor/Team Member

Thanks for your replies on my page Geoff. I look forward to comparing notes, as will the other active Runciman researchers. Happy to help. It would be fantastic if we connect your line to any of the others.

I see Lorna has already found you a likely home! The ONS understanding and display of our various lines is fantastic. There aren't all that many separate lines coming from Scotland and DNA shows that some are definitely related although the sibling relationship is most likely in the 1600s just outside the edges of our historical paper trail by the churches. Like you, I'll need to look further at her ONS. To see whether you have DNA-related cousin lines.

Hi Geoff,

Would this be your line by any chance? http://runciman.lornahen.com/lineages/p62953.htm Lorna

Geoff-ive just visited Michelle Bergins profile to find you're actually well down the road of building a tree. I look forward to us maybe sharing info. Do you know of the Runciman One Name Study; if not you will find it through Google. There's also a lot of Dna testing which may be of great value.

Hi Geoff-

A warm 'Runci' welcome to both WikiTree and to Runciman family research. My fellow Runciman researchers & I selected WT as the best choice for collaboration. We have made interesting 'join ups' with other branches. My family have been in and around Glasgow area since 1800s.

Hi Geoff

No need to worry about gedcoms. In fact I would recommend entering people manually. A little further down the road you can upload a gedcom, if you wish, but its not a necessity.

You maybe interested in our Scottish Clans Project. There 's lots of information there and some specialists in Scottish genealogy who are always willing to help.

Hi

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add any Profiles to WikiTree.

If you need any help getting started check out the Help section,or head over to the G2G forum, you might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :)

Hi just joined to see if I can make progress by connecting with other Runciman geneologists. I seem to belong to a disconnected branch of the family based in Campsie North of Glasgow from aroung the beginning to the end of 19thc. I'll try to begin loading family members but I'm pretty new to this so not sure about GEDCOMS etc so please bear with me.
