Cause of death was Chronic Myocarditis and Arterio Sclerosis, he suffered with both for about a 5 years. He was 74 years, 5 months and 29 days old. He worked as a hotel manager for 30 years. He was buried in Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston, Ma. on Nov 17, 1931. He was born in Scotland as well as his parents William Runciman and Jane France. He was married to Alice Leland as she was the informant of the death certificate.
Obituary: 16 Nov 1931, Framingham, Massechusetts, Usa. JAMES RUNCIMAN PASSES AWAY AT AGE OF 74 YEARS James Runciman passed away at his home, 86 Lincoln street, Saturday night. He was born May 16, 1857, at Haddington, Scotland. He Married Alice T. Leland at Holliston Aug 1, 1887. Mr. Runciman who made his home in Framingham for the past two years was engaged in the hotel bussiness for many years in Chicago, New York and Washington, D. C. He was a member of Federal Lodge No 1, A.F. & A. M.. the Scottish rites and Shrine, also Almas Lodge, all of Washington, D. C. He leaves his wife, a sister, Mrs. William Mann of Cobourg, Ontario, a brother, Robert R. Runciman of Cobourg, Ont. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at his home, 86 Lincoln street, Tuesday at 2 pm with Rev. James A. Thompson, Rector of St. Andrew's church, officiating. Members of Alpha Lodge, A. F. & A. M., will conduct the Masonic burial service. Interment will be in Lake Grove Cemetery, Holliston, under the direction of A. J. Stevens[7]
