Biography

Robert was born in New Zealand in 1864 to Mary and James [1][2]

Agnes Don Sutherland and Robert James Merrilees Runciman married in New Zealand in 1893 [3]

Note: at the home of Alexander Sutherland; cert. shows Robert James Merrilees as farmer bachelor s/o James Runciman, settler and Mary m.s. Binnie and Agnes Dow as d/o Alexander Sutherland, farmer, and Bertha m.s. Dow. Both were born Otago and resident West Taeiri, both signed, wit: Helen Sutherland West Taieri and Richard John Binnie Runcmian, Brighton [4][5]

Robert died in Waimate, New Zealand on the 15th of March 1939 [6][7][8][9], and was buried at Waimate Cemetery [10]
