Biography

Peter Runciman was born in about 1817 in Scotland.

Peter married Betsey Doyle on 18 May 1835 at St Nicholas' Church in Liverpool, Lancashire. Both were of Liverpool; Peter was a cordwainer, Betsey was a spinster.

They probably had a daughter Isabella in about 1836 (Isabella and her brother Thomas were with their grandparents in Dunbar in 1841 and 1851).

Their son Thomas was christened on 1 Apr 1838 at St Peter's Church in Liverpool. His father's occupation was given as shoe maker, and the family's address as Fontenoy Street.

Their son Peter was born in 1840 in Liverpool.^[1]

Elizabeth died in 1840 in Liverpool, aged 27.

Peter married Margaret Harper in about 1849 in Wirral, Cheshire.

Their son William was born in about 1850 in Birkenhead, Cheshire.

Peter (senior) died in 1854 in the Wirral, Cheshire, aged 37, and was buried on 5 Jul 1854 at St Mary's Church in Birkenhead, Cheshire.
