Christening
10 APR 1720
Prestonpans, East Lothian, Scotland
"Robert Runciman Gardner and Janet Sinclair had a Son born March 7th 1720 and baptized Thomas Apr: 10th Witnesses James Forrest sievewright and James Begbie weaver[6]
The baptism entry for Thomas shows George as a baxter (aka a baker)
It seems unlikely that a baker's son from Perth would end up a servant in Innerwick. It also seems unlikely that what looks like George's will doesn't mention a son who was still alive[7]
Marriage
14 NOV 1746
Par. of Innerwick, East Lothian, Scotland
entry for Novr 14th reads: Thomas Runciman in Thornton & Alison Grieve in the parish of Auldhamstocks gave up their names to be proclaimed Caur for the bridegroom John Clawson & for the bride James Gowany (also indexed for 5th Nov in Oldhamstocks)[8][9][10][11]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Thomas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
Could this Thomas Runciman who married Alison Grieve in Innerwick, not be the child of James Runcyman and Agnes Ewart (Scotlands People.FR330). This would mean Thomas was born in Innerwick on the 27.2.1704, in the village he was married in. This would also make him older than Alison, which was more common in those days. James and Agnes also had a daughter Marian born 17.01.1701 in Innerwick, which is a name that runs through the family.
