Biography

George's birth was registered in 1873 in the Stichell district.^[1]

In the 1881 census George (age 7) was the son of George Runciman in Mertoun, Berwickshire.^[2]

In the 1891 census George (age 17), Agr Lab, was the son of George Runciman in Springwells, Eccles, Berwickshire.^[3]

George's marriage to Jane Ann Kerr was registered in 1897 in the Ayton district and took place on 17 Jul of that year. ^[4]

By 1901 the couple were parents of two children, george aged three and one year ol Margaret, the family lived in Edington Mains Farm Place, Chirnside, Berwickshire. he worked as a ploughman.^[5]

Research Notes

Removed the death after 1901 status (as this give an impresions of a much ealier death) and in ?Stitchel, Roxburgh as no source. The Scotlandspeople Index shows a possible death based on his birth year being +/- 5 years of his1873 birth and there is one possiblity, this does not show mothers maiden name. He may have died in another country of course.
