Biography

Sarah Catherine Rue was born on March 11, 1823 to Matthew Matthias Rue and Charlotte Higgins, but became an orphan before she was seven years old. She was sent to live with Samuel Jennings who ran a hotel in Lockport New York, where she recalled witnessing the origins of the Joseph Smith's Copper. tablets. She married hotelier and businessman Andrew Jackson Sink in 1841, and had four children with him, before dying of cancer on June 3, 1881.
