Research Notes
The marriage records show her to be Emma Alice Boone born 1862 in Coles, Illinois. The death certificate says she was born 23 June 1859 in Highland, Virginia, but the informant was my GG grandfather William Homer Mauk. He also states that her father was John A Ralph. He could be wrong, and her birth could have been 23 June 1862.
I can't find any records other than the marriage record that shows her parents as John Rowe and Isabella Barnes.
I have not seen any proof that her maiden name was Rowe which is on Find a Grave and this marriage record on Ancestry. I believe that her last name as Rowe is a misinterpretation mistake since Boone written in cursive does kind of look like Rowe. The same record on FamilySearch has it as Boone.
