After being in ill health for some months, the death occurred in Lis more yesterday afternoon of Mr. Alfred Henry Rowe a well known resident of. South Lismore. Mr. Rowe, who lived at 85 Casino Street, was born at Manchester, England, and had lived in Australia for about 40 years, and for the most of that time in Lismore. During the greater part of his residence here Mr. Rowe had been associated with the butchering trade. He re tired about two years ago. He mar ried at Swan Bay Miss Beatrice Durrington, who survives him. Mr. Rowe had been closely associated with the work of St. Andrew's Church of England and had served as a Parochial Councillor. He was also one of the first to be associated with progress association work at South Lismore. In addition to his widow, a son Eric, of South Lismore, and two daughters, Mrs. R. Hep burn, of South Lismore, and Nurse Betty Rowe, of the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, survive. His fun eral will leave St. Andrew's Church of England, Lismore, tomorrow after a service commencing at 3.30 pau. for the Lismore cemetery. ____

ROWE There was a large attendance at St. Andrew's Church of Eng land, Lismore, yesterday after noon,, when a service was conduct- ed by the Rector of Lismore (Rev. Eric Parsons) prior to the burial of Mr. Alfred Henry Rowe, of 85 Casino Street, South Lismore. a former Parochial Coun cillor of St. Andrew's and for many years one of its best work ers. Rev. J. R. Payne assisted the Rector in the service and the choir of St. Andrew's, with Miss Mavis Pye at the organ, assisted with the service and preceded the cas ket from the church. In an address Mr. Parsons paid tribute to the devotion of Mr. Rowe to his church and spoke of his years of valuable service. The service at Lismore cemetery was conducted by Mr. Payne. Pall bearers at the church were six members of St. Andrew's Parochial Council. They were Messrs. H. Riddle, W. C. Tippett. G H. Lyndon, R. Dagg, C. A. Pitt and P. H. Scutt. At the cemetery they were Messrs. J. Coop and Cecil Walker (former workmates), J. Tedesco (master butchers), J. Hud son and D. Bonner (staff Radio 2LM), and H. L. Somerville. The wreaths were carried by Messrs. J. B. and Horace Olley and T. Smith: Will Riley and- Son conducted the funeral arrange ments. ______________
