JAMES K POLK ROUT - The Daily News; Frederick, Frederick Co, MD - May 14, 1934 James K Polk Rout, a retired farmer, died Wednesday morning at 5 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Grace Burkholder; Taneytown, after a lingering illness from complications. He was aged 91 years, six months, and 18 days. He had been confined to bed for the last seven years. He was a son of the late James and Elizabeth Polk Rout, natives of England and was born in Frederick County. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Burkholder with whom he made his home and Mrs. Hallie Koontz, New Oxford; also three sons, Charles and Leonard, Baltimore and Clinton, Charlestown, Mass; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral took place Saturday morning with requiem mass at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Taneytown, 9 o'clock with Rev J F Lane as celebrant. Interment was in the Lutheran cemetery in Uniontown.
