Mary Ann "Polly" Rorex (Rorax) was supposedly born in Jackson county, Alabama.

Mary according to some sources was married to Samuel Jackson Brownfield prior to 1850 in Jackson county, Alabama. No marriage record has been located in Alabama, Tennessee, or Texas for a marriage to Samuel Jackson Brownfield.

Based on 1850 Federal census records of Jackson county, Alabama, Samuel Brownfield was single and living in the household of Thomas Brownfield, believed to be Samuel brother.

Samuel Brownfield in 1860 Federal census is married to an M.J. (Margaret Jane Williams) and they are living in Lamar county, Texas. Samuel and Margaret also appear in the 1870 Federal census in Lamar county, Texas. Samuel and Margaret were the parents of seven (7) children. Margaret died before1875 in Texas.

Samuel Brownfield married his second wife Amelia Choat on the 30th August, 1875.

Samuel Brownfield and his wife Amelia appear in the 1880 Federal census in Fannin county, Texas. Samuel Brownfield died in Texas, before 1900.
