According to the Robey, Roby, Robie genealogy by William G. Robey, this Benjamin Robey (father of Benjamin Robey), was NOT the son of Richard Robey and Ann Barton, (see especially pages 60 & 87). It is suggested that his father was a different man named Benjamin Robey who lived in Charles county and who was born around 1675. The Robey genealogy suggests he was a kinsman of Richard (who married Ann Barton)--either a step-brother or cousin (see p. 39).
