Mary Robertson b. 16 Mar 1765 d. 22 Oct 1826 GA bur. Wilson Family Cem, McDuffie Co, GA; m. m. 02 Oct 1783 Capt John Wilson b. 31 Dec 1756 d. 15 Feb 1847 Warren Co, GA bur. Wilson Family Cem, Thomson, McDuffie Co, GA.[1]
Research Note
Warren Co, GA was created from Columbia, Washington and Wilkes counties in 1793. McDuffie Co, GA was created from Columbia and Warren counties in 1870. Thomson was originally called Slashes, was founded in 1837 and became the county seat of McDuffie Co when it was formed in 1870.[1]
On her tombstone, there's this inscription: "Mary Wilson, Consort of John Wilson who died Oct 22, 1826, aged 61 yrs, 7 months & 6 days. A faithful member of the Baptist Church at Union. Done by her daughter 1853."[1]
