Biography

James, or Frank as he was called, was born in 1858, the son of John and Caroline (Tetrick) Robertson, in Illinois where he would live his life. In about 1880 he married Harriet "Hattie" Emmeret Whittington, the daughter of Joseph and Johanna (Buchanan) Whittington. There are no records of any children. Frank and Hattie were together for a few years but then divorced in around 1888.

Frank was said to be single in the 1900 US Census and found living in boarding houses in 1910 and 1920. Hattie had married an older man who died in 1921 and evidently Frank got back with her and they re-married. She died in October of 1938 while he lived a little over a month after she passed, dying in December of 1938. Their bodies are buried in the Myers Cemetery in Herrick, Shelby County, Illinois.
