I see you are the Profile Manager for, Leonard Ballew (abt.1646-abt.1682). I was wondering if you might have any more information about him and especially any of his children. I'm trying to make a connection between this Leonard Ballew (abt.1646-abt.1682) and the Leonard Ballews that show up on Ancestry.com. Any additional information you can share on Leonard Ballew (abt.1646-abt.1682) would be greatly appreciated. Keith

When you get a chance, please add your info on the Virginia Team page. If you haven't already looked it over, Virginia Project is the main project page and has lots more information.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers, Liz
Can you add Teri Hoch to the trusted list for this profile? Hoch-353. She is doing revisions on some out dated research and some new results from the Winn Ydna study. Go to Privacy and Add to Trusted List. Thanks, Mary
Yes there were several French David families who settled in New France between 1630-1750. One of them was my ancestor Guillaume who subsequently moved to New England around 1680. This is well documented in the Andros Papers. The name morphed from David to Davids (his wife was likely Dutch) and then within 2 generations some of them just became Davis. I've not heard of your Pierre David. It would be interesting to see if there was a link between your David clan and mine.
I'm sure there's a connection. There's a Morissette family that came to Virginia and there's a Morissette family that went to Canada. They're the same clan. They all escaped to England, but some stayed longer in England in others.
Cheers, Liz
Please refer to the Style guide (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Name_Fields#Current_Last_Name), "For non-living people, it should be the last name they were using at the time of their death. If a woman had multiple married names you can include the others in the Other Last Names field." I only mention this because Katherine is a very important person - the matriarch of the entire Twyman family in America - so I want to be sure her profile is correct. Thanks!

I just wanted to let you know I had 5 Beaches on 23andme and 1 on FTDNA and no Mallorys.
Please note that women do not take their husband's names in New France and for some time after the conquest, and we don't now either for that matter. See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Quebecois project page for guidelines on names and place names. Thanks.

Thank you for your note. The only hint I have that this is a possibility is that Thomas Banks 1709-1789 named one son William Rand/Randol Banks. There is a variation on the spelling of the middle name. It is thought that the original spelling of RANDOLPH was RANDOL. This might be a hint of the connection. Notice, I say MIGHT. Anne (Isham) EPPES sister, Mary ISHAM married William RANDOLPH. Both girls daughters of Elizabeth Katherine Banks ISHAM.

Thanks for all your work on WikiTree. I noticed that you recently created a profile for a pre-1700 ancestor and placed "Unsourced - from Ancestry.com" in the sources section.
There have been some updates to the Pre-1700 Profile help page and the Pre-1700 Quiz since you took it in April 2016. Please review both and let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You will notice that the wording has been modified to more fully explain the sourcing needed for pre-1700 profiles.
Please do not create any more pre-1700 profiles from unsourced Ancestry records.
Thanks,
Debi
How are you? I'm David a WikiTree Mentor. Thanks for adding profiles to WikiTree.
Here is what our Sources help page says. It has lots of ideas: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sources
The Sources Style Guide shows how to enter sources in the biography.
This page describes sources and how to enter sources and is one of my favorites.
Please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well - if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.
And I'm here to help too, just ask!
