In 1850, Caroline (age 25) lived in Houston County, TX with her husband Green W. (age 30) and children, Jonathan (age 3), Nancy (age 2), and James M. (age 1). Her siblings, Malinda R. (age 24), James M. (age 20), and George W. (age 17) also lived in the household. ^[1]

Caroline was widowed by 1860. She was listed on the census that year as Caroline Meredith (age 33) in Houston County, TX with her children Jnothan (age 15), Nancy (age 13), James (age 10), Madora (age 5). Her brother George (age 27) also lived in the household. ^[2]
