Biography

John Revenaugh, Sr. was the only son and eldest child of Casper Revenaugh (1730-1803) and Catharine Barnhart who moved the family from York County, Pennsylvania, to Maryland, then to Western Pennsylvania where he became a member of the Dutch Forks Settlement of Donegal Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania.

John and his wife Kate (Barnhart) Revenaugh followed his parents moving from Maryland to Donegal Township, Washington County (The Dutch Forks Settlement) Pennsylvania. They then moved back to Maryland, then to Western Virginia, back to Pennsylvania, then finally to Jefferson County, Ohio. It is difficult to find their imprint and reliable records because of all their moves. Once they settled in Ohio there are good records for John in the tax rosters.

John and Catherine "Kate" were the parents of seven children. Six out of the seven children have memorials on Find a Grave. Only daughter Christian Revenaugh (1804-1840) is missing a memorial.
