Sara E. Smith, 85, formerly of 1616 Liberty St., Allentown, died Friday [August 12, 1994] in Sunrise Manor Nursing Home, Hodgenville, Ky. She was the wife of the late Jacob H. "Jake" Smith.

Born in Sunbury, Northumberland County, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Tryphena (Snyder) Reitz.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Allentown, where she served on the council and organized the Miller Memorial Blood Bank donation program for the congregation.

She was a volunteer at the Ecumenical Food Bank, Allentown.

Survivors: Son, Lloyd of Kutztown; daughters, Darlene Dyer of Radcliffe, Ky., and Joy Tewold of Wescosville; brothers, Harold in Hawaii, Charles of Lancaster, and Norman and Forrest, both of Allentown; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
