Biography
Lucille was born September 1,1909 in Sibley, Iowa. Later on her family moved to Reading, Minnesota where they became farmers. In the small town of Reading there was an East Frisian Association where East Frisian emigrants still spoke in the Low German language. She married Adolph Funk in 1928. In 1930 her only child, Lavonne Eileen was born at home in Spirit Lake, MN. In 1935 Lucille died at the hospital in Minneapolis after undergoing surgery for a brain tumor and was buried in Reading, Minnesota.
