When Robert Gerald "Bobby" Raley was born in 1938, in Perryville, Boyle, Kentucky, United States, his father, William Albert Raley, was 32 and his mother, Addie Lee Girtley, was 23.

Bobby was only 2 years old when Lester Purdom conducted the US Census on Minors Branch Rd in the Little South Fork Community of Casey County, Kentucky on April 13, 1940. His family consisted of his parents, William and Addie, his siblings; Harold, Louise and Martha. Bobby was the youngest.

He married Donna Kaye Payton.

He died 22 August 2006, in Frankfort, Franklin, Kentucky, United States, at the age of 68, and was buried in Frankfort, Franklin, Kentucky, United States.
