Sophia was born in 1839. She was the daughter of Henry Rake and Nancy Snyder. She passed away in 1905.
Obituary from The Sunbury American (Sunbury Pa.) 3 Feb., 1905, Fri. Miss Sophia Rake--Well Known Sunbury Lady Died Wednesday Evening. The many friends of Miss Sophia Rake will learn with deep sorrow the sad news of her death, which occurred at home Chestnut street Wednesday evening. Miss Rake was taken ill about eight weeks ago and death was due to complications of diseases. Always of a kind and genial disposition she enjoyed the acquaintance of a large circle of friends. She is survived by three brothers and two sisters, John of Florida, George, Isaac of Sunbury; Mrs. Charles Maihl, of Sunbury; Mrs. Mary Snyder, of Shamokin. Miss Rake was engaged in the tailoring business in Sunbury for forty years at the same location. Funeral announcement later.
