Edwin was born in 1918. He was the son of Alvin Raffety and Lettie Colvin. He passed away in 1974.

Mr. Edwin (Ed) Rafferty, a farmer of the Palestine Community in Taylor County, Campbellsville, Route 6, son of Mrs. Lettie Colvin Rafferty and the late Mr. Alvin Rafferty, was born in Taylor County December 28, 1918. He died suddenly at 7:10 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 1974, enroute to the Taylor County Hospital.
He was 55 years of age. He had professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Rafferty was employed at the Taylor County Wholesale Electric Company. He united in marriage to Miss Gertrude Overton July 2, 1941. To this union two daughters and one son were born.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Rafferty of Campbellsville, Route 6, surviving are: Mr. Gary Rafferty of Campbellsville, Mrs. Brenda Thompson of Campbellsville, Route 2, Mrs. Faye Osborne of Louisville; and one granddaughter: Miss Kellie Jo Osborne. He is also survived by his mother: Mrs. Lettie Colvin Rafferty of Finley; two brothers: Mr. Lawrence Rafferty of Campbellsville, and Mr. Fred Rafferty of Finley; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 25, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville by Rev. Thurman Eaton, Rev. H. C. Crabtree, and Rev. Richard Shields. Burial was in Campbellsville Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Carl Smith, Kenneth Smith, Herbert Graybeal, Merlin Caffee, Floyd Wise, and Frank Rice.
