Biography
From Genealogical and Personal History of Western Pennsylvania:
Samuel Quay was born in Susquehanna county, Pennsylvania, and later removed to Crawford county, in the same state, where he purchased a farm of one hundred acres. He was a Democrat, and a forceful agent in local political affairs. His religious connection was with the Methodist church. He married Mary Carpenter, of the same town, and had children: Samuel, of further mention ; John ; Robert; Archibald, of further mention.
