Biography

This profile is part of the Pike Name Study.

Mary Pyke was born in 1743[1] to Robert and Elizabeth Pyke.

Baptized 23 Jan 1743 Par. of Bere Ferrers, Devon, England [1]

Research notes

Did Mary marry Richard Williams?

This conjecture came from DNA matches[2].
However on further digging, it seems the Mary married to Richard Williams baptizing a Dianysia Williams in Peter Tavy is more likely to be Mary Palmer who married in Bridestow a Richard Williams of Peter Tavy rather than the Richard Williams of Tavistock who married a Mary Pike of Bradstone.
Pity, it seemed so fitting that a familiy with Procretia as a name, might also have a Dianysia,Henderson-2297

If so, is Richard any relation to Mary's brother-in-law, Jonathan Williams, married to Procretia.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:
