Biography

John was born at 70 FitzGerald Street in Little Horton on 24 July 1916. As a young man, he worked as a wool warehouseman, and later joined the Army Catering Corps during WWII.

On 5 May 1945, he married Beatrice Firth, with whom he had a son and two daughters.

In later life, John worked as a boiler firer. He passed away in a vehicle accident on 5 November 1969.
