George Pinder was baptised at All Saints Gainsborough on 12 January 1766, to parents Robert (sailor) and Mary.[1]
George Pindar married Ann Egglestone on 26 March 1787 at All Saints Gainsborough, his occupation was sailor, the marriage was witnessed by Mary Mayfield and Edward Egglestone.[2]
George's occupation in 1788 was sailor, according to the baptismal record of Edward.[3]
George, brother of Capt Robert Pindar was reported to have died in the 18 months prior to Aug 1812.[4]
George Pinder, age 55 was buried in King's Lynn, Norfolk 28 November 1811.[5]
George Pindar of the Ant, London drowned in Lynn harbour, 28 November 1811,[6]
also George Pindar, master of the sloop Ant of Gainsborough, fell in the river at Lynn in the evening and drowned, 'Tuesday se'enight'.[7]
Research Notes
The Sloop Ant in 1797 had master John Maulke, in Stromness in Orkney.[8]
