Michael Pike was born November 6, 1763, in Framinham, Massachusetts, the son of Asa and Rachael Pike. In 1793 he married Abigail Lamb. The Lamb and Pike families had been in Massachusetts since the 1600s, but after their marriage Michael and Abigail moved to New York, settling on a farm in Chenango county in the town of McDonough where they raised eleven children: David, Sarah, Permelia, Daniel, Mary, Cyrus, Louisa, Edward, Emory, Charles Wellington & Almira
