Obituary

MRS. GREENLEE DIES AT RIPE AGE

Mother Of D. P. Greenlee Of Belvidere Passes Away At Eighty-Five Years Of Age - In County Sixty Seven Years And For Fifty Five Years On Same Farm.

Mrs. Margaret Greenlee, widow of James Greenlee, passed away on Saturday evening at 11:30 o'clock at her home near Argyle, after a sickness of a week with bronchitis.

The funeral services will be held at the house tomorrow, Tuesday, forenoon at 11 o'clock. Rev. M. L. Pearson, pastor of the Willow Creek church, will conduct the services. The interment will be in the Willow Creek Cemetery.

Mrs. Greenlee was nearly 85 years of age and had been in remarkable good health and participating in the activities of life to an unusual extent in her declining years, until the last brief sickness.

There survive the children, David P. Greenlee, of this city, Mrs. Hugh Reed and James and Peter, residing near Argyle and Misses Martha and Margaret, living at home. None others of the immediate relatives remain.

The husband, James Greenlee, died about three years ago. He came to Argyle in 1842, and Mrs. Greenlee in 1847. She had lived on the same farm since her marriage, 55 years ago, and previously within a mile of that place since coming with her parents to the country.

Mrs. Greenlee was a woman of splendid Christian character and beloved by a multitude of friends. All will have much sympathy for the bereaved family.[10]
