Anna Pfeif was born on 19 Aug 1854 in Frank, Saratov, Volga, Russia to Conrad Pfeif and Catharina Margaretha Gruenwald.[1][2]

She was christened on 22 Aug 1854 in Frank, Saratov, Volga, Russia.

Anna Elisabeth was confirmed in Frank in 1870.

She married Johann Georg Bretthauer in 1871. They had four recorded children in the village of Brunnental and had other children within Russia prior to immigrating to America in 1893. Their last residence is listed as Alexanderpol.

They departed from Bremen on 17 Aug 1893 via S.S. Dresden and arrived 2 Sep 1893 in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.[3]
