Can you let me know if youd like to stay on in the new project and which team(s) youd like to join. Please also let me know your e-mail address so that I can get you added to the projects Google Group or confirm you are already a member of the google group.
Hi Gavin , Thanks for your message. Excellent and welcome! I've added the project badge to your profile. If you click on the badge it will take you to the full list of our wonderful members. Clicking on the link Irish Roots Project will take you the first page of the project. Scroll down to participants I've added your good self. Here you can let members know your Counties, clan/family names etc of interest etc. We also now have a brand new google+ community which you can join. I'll let you explore and catch up with you later. Feel free to add anything to the County pages and let me know any clan or family name pages you want me to set up for you. Thanks again for joining and enjoy. Maria
Hi Gavin, and welcome to WikiTree! You mention ancestors in Scotland and Ireland. I wanted to let you know we have two great projects that focus on Scottish Clans and Irish Roots here called Scottish Clans Project and Irish Roots Project They might be places for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree. Lots of hints, links etc for researching on pages of both projects.
You may find some of your ancestors are already on WikiTree and the people in both Projects will be happy to help you in any way they can. Thank you so much for joining WikiTree.
We hope you will like our collaborative genealogy community. You now have full access to all the features of WikiTree.
We also have our Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Having trouble starting your tree ? Look at http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Adding_Family or one of the how- to videos in the Help section .
We do emphasize Sources at WikiTree as well as dates and locations as you build your family tree here .
Thank you and if you have any questions , please feel free to ask .
I was born in Liverpool, England of English, Irish and Scottish heritage. Now getting older and with kids I want to trace my family back as far as I can.
Gavin , I noticed you plan to or already uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to instructions on the step-by-step gedcom import at WikiTree , including screenshots that you might find helpful. You might also want to check out our gedom instructions
Please keep in mind that our vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Thank you for taking the time to go through your gedmatches.
TIP: if your ancestor was born over two hundred years ago, there's a very good chance she/he already has a profile on wikitree.
You are probably here because your heard about us and wondered about WikiTree.
If you would like to enjoy the benefits of being a full member, leave us a message here letting us know that you read Volunteers at WikiTree
Once we see a message on your profile stating why you want to be a part of our collaborative genealogical community, one of our greeters will confirm you .
