Biography
Ruth was born in Lower Hutt in 1960. She is the daughter of Roy Northey and Gretchen Kane
She married Keith Wayne Vincent in 1985 in Lower Hutt. They have three children still living.
Ruth works as an architectural draughtsman and has been actively involved in many community activities over the years : St James church Lower Hutt , Lower Hutt repertory , Wellington square dancing, Playcentre, Marlborough Parents Centre , Marlborough arts society , HB Orienteering , African drumming HB , HASTINGS Landmarks trust . Hobbies include gardening , hand drumming, cycling, dancing , singing and all things playful .
Ruth is interested in genealogy primarily because 14 of her 16 gggp immigrated from their homes in Ireland , Cornwall , Scotland and England to live in Australia and NZ in the early to mid 1800s. Their journeys must have been a huge undertaking at the time , leaving their families and culture behind .
She is still piecing together those journeys , stories and relationships.
