Thomas Needham
In 1569, a survey of the parochial chapel, called St Luke's in the 19th century, of Hulme, now known as Church Hulme, recorded in the windows were the arms of Winnington, Cotton, Needham impaling three wives: Bromley, Somerford and Mainwaring; Needham, Croxton, Bulkeley, Pulford, Davenport, Mainwaring, Radclyff, Malpas of Bickley, Brereton and Lachford, and a slab had two figures inlaid in brass with at their feet the inscription:[1]
"Hic jacent corpora Roberti de Nedham, qui obiit die Sabbati, in festo Sancti Edwardi 1431, et Thomæ de Nedham, quondam fratris predicti Roberti . . . . qui obiit die dominica 1463."
Which translated is here lies the bodies of Robert de Nedham, who died Saturday the feast of St Edward, 1431, and Thomas de Nedham, who was his brother, who died 1463.
