Jean Murray, daughter of William Murray and Margaret Murray, was born about 1781 and baptised in Watten, Caithness, on 14 April 1781: Witnesses: Donald Cormack in Watten, David Murray in Knapperfield.[1][2]
Jean married in 1803: : 15 Jul 1803 Watten, Caithness, Scotland Entry for 25 Jun reads: James Georgeson in Knapperfield & Jean Murray in Tarrool were contracted in order to marriage & after the usual proclamations & no objections offered their marriage was solemnized on the 15th July [3][4]
In 1851 James and Jean were living with their daughter Jean in Henrietta Street, Wick, Caithness. James's trade was "mason".[5]
Could Jean be the same woman as Jane Murray, also born 1781, who married John Ireland? Further information is needed - it is possible the two women were cousins, for example.
