George was in Madeira, Portugal in 1891 with his wife.^[1]

George and Elizabeth served in Angola from about 1892 through about 1907, all but one of their eleven children were born here.

In 1908, the family was residing in British West Indies where their son, Elliott Sydney was born.

Four of George's children; John, Mary, Walter, and Sarah arrived in New York in 1909.^[2]

George, Elizabeth, and seven of his twelve children, arrived in New York, New York on 8 August 1913, traveling to four of children already residing in Enfield, North Carolina.^[3]

George traveled from Buenos Aires, Argentina arriving in Monteclare, Québec on 27 July 1924.^[4][5][6]

George, son of John Murrain & Mercy Allen, died (age 54) on 7 December 1924 in Manhattan, New York City, New York.^[7][8]

Research Notes

So far the surname Murrain doesn't appear to be a common one. Antigua is fairly big in current times. I'm not sure of the population in the early 19th century. There is one claim awarded in 1835 to a Murrain, when slavery became illegal. Since we don't have George's family yet, I'm saving the record here.(04:11, 3 February 2023 (UTC))
