During the early 2000s I visited the Lutwyche Cemetery and using the details supplied by the cemetery trust I tried to find Tom's marker. Where it should have been ( Portion 7, Section 82, Grave 9) was an empty place. A caretaker told me at the time several of the soldier's markers had been stolen for reasons unknown.
He passed away in 1946.
