Biography

Sidney Holmes Morgan was born on the 24th of May 1893 in Rowan County, North Carolina. He was the son of John Morgan and Amanda Trexler.

  • Sidney Holmes Morgan registered for the US World War I Draft on the 5th of June 1917. He was married, had a wife and one child and living in Richfield, North Carolina. [2]
  • 1920 US Federal Census for Morgan, Rowan, North Carolina (Street: Stokes Ferry Road) shows Sidney H. Morgan (age 26) Married, Head of House, Occupation: Retail Merchant in a General Store, with his wife Nannie J (age 25) and three children - two daughters: Stella M (age 3) and Rena M (age 1) and a son Leo G (age 1 month).   • 1940 US Federal Census for Unity, Rowan County, North Carolina (Street: Highway 801) shows Sidney H. Morgan (age 46) Married, Head of House, with his wife Nannie J. (age 46) and five children - two sons - Leo G (age 20) and Joe F (age 2). [4]
  • 1950 US Federal Census for Unity, Rowan County, North Carolina show Sidney H. Morgan (age 55) Married, Head of House with his wife Nannie G. (age 54) and a daughter Jane V (age 20) and a son Joe F (age 12). [5]
  • Sidney passed away on the 23rd of October 1962 in Salisbury, Rowan County, North Carolina (aged 69). He was is buried in the Unity Presbyterian Cemetery of Woodleaf, North Carolina. [6]
