Robert was born in Cecil County, Colonial Maryland about 1760. He is the son of James Morgan and Rachel Jack.
Robert parents - James and Rachel moved their family to North Carolina about 1768. They probably traveled from Cecil County, MD to Rowan County, NC, a distance of about 530 miles via the Great Wagon Road.
