Origins

Multiple theories of Clara's origin have been published on the Internet, but evidence is lacking for all of them. She is often said to have been born in The Hague; birth years 1624, 1628, and 1632 were included in earlier versions of this WikiTree profile. Her father has been identified as Robert Moockers, about whom no evidence has been found, or a Francois Moockers, whose claimed biographical details suggest him to be the same person as Francois Le Sueur, son of Benjamin and Sara Le Sueur of Jersey. A son of these parents named Francois was baptized in St Helier, Jersey, on 30 October 1603. A Thomasse Binet has been identified as the wife of Francois and mother of Clara. all of these parent connections have been removed from this profile.

Biography

Clara Moockers was the wife of Adriaen Crijnen Post. They are estimated to have married in about 1645, probably in The Hague, Zuid Holland, The Netherlands.

By 1649 they removed to the Dutch colony in Recife, Brazil.

The name Clara Moockers appears in the baptism record for her daughter Maria, baptized on 6 June 1649 in the Dutch Church in the Dutch colony in Recife. Brazil. [1] [2] [3] Some genealogies give her first name as Claartje and her last name as Moojers.

There are also church records in Recife for a Geertruyt Moockers, wife of a man recorded as Pieter Le Rouge or Lenorge. Geertruyt might have been Clara's sister.

The family subsequently removed to New Netherland, where baptisms of several children were recorded in the Reformed Dutch Church of New Amsterdam.

Died December 4, 1675 in Bergen, New Jersey.[citation needed]

Mockers-4 and Moockers-2 appear to represent the same person because: Matches for spouse, daughter, death place and date. Birthdate doesn't match, though. Moockers-2 is lowest numbered profile for the LNAB selected by New Netherland project.

Mockers-5 and Moockers-2 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest maternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge. No tree conflicts. These matches have been reviewed by the New Netherland Settlers Merge Approval System, and the "Green" destination NNS profile is protected as PPP, and the "Merge Pending" profile is now ready and able to be merged into it. I saved the data to the bios. Thanks!

Clara Mockers was imported in 2010 as daughter of Francois Leseur-1. But that makes no sense, either patronymically, or by surname.

I see by her match that she is really the daughter of Robert Moockers. So I am simply going to detach that wrong Francois from this, so that Clara can be merged.
