George Moir, the son of Robert Moir and Grizzall McArthur was born on February 6, 1748 in Kincardine, Perthshire, Scotland.

George marries on July 6, 1776 in Kincardine by Doune, Perth, Scotland to Janet Adam the daughter of Alexander Adam and Janet Carrick. She was born on March 26, 1753 in Kincardine, Perthshire, Scotland.

Both George and Janet are buried in Thornhill Cemetery, Perth, Scotland.
