Ludwig Christ Moeller was born on 23 Apr 1890 in Davenport, Iowa.[1][2] Louis' middle name "Christ" (German) translates to the name "Christian" in English.[3] His parent were Carsten Moeller and Catharina (Petersen) Moeller, both of whom were German immigrants.[1][2]. Ludwig's nickname was "Louis" and he was middle child and only son. He had 2 older sisters; Emma (1892) and Meta (1888) and 2 younger sisters; Minnie (1895) and Tillie (1896).[4] All 5 children were born in Davenport, IA.[4] The Moeller family practiced the Lutheran Religion.[4]
Louis remained in his childhood home until his marriage to Hilda Emma Mohr in Davenport, on 18 jun 1914.[5] Hilda is also a resident of Davenport and has German heritage, like Louis.[4] Louis was a electrician by trade, and his profession would contribute to the family moving across the country, including a brief stop in Canada.[4] Carma (1914) and Millie (1915) are born in Iowa, their son Louis is born in Canada and the remaining children; Helen (1921), Robert (1923), Orville (1926) and June (1928) are born in Pennsylvania.[4]

Louis and Hilda's first residence was 1509 Prairie Street in Davenport, Iowa.[6] Louis and Hilda would only live in Iowa for a few years; moving to Welland, Ontario, Canada, around 1919 due to her Louis' profession. The family remained in Canada for about 2 years, eventually settling down in the Philadelphia suburb of Upper Chichester, PA.[4] The family arrives in Upper Chichester (Boothwyn) around 1921, living at the same address listed on the 1930 US Census and 1940 US Census , Meeting House Road, Chichester Road, Upper Chichester, PA.[7][8]
According to Louis Obituary, Louis lived and worked at the American Steel Foundries in Pittsburgh, PA. The obituary states that Louis worked at the foundry for 15 years and retired in 1952. After retirement, Louis returned to the Philadelphia area.[9]. Hilda did not want to move to Pittsburgh, so Louis lived in there alone for 15 years.[4] Hilda remained in Upper Chichester and raised her family.[4]
At some point after 1952, when Louis returned from Pittsburgh, Louis and Hilda moved to 114 East Chelton Road in Chester, PA.[2] Louis passes away on 27 Dec 1957, at the age of 67.[2] The Death Certificate states cause of death was phlebitis (acute) left leg.[2]Louis and his wife Hilda are buried in Lawn Croft Cemetery.[2]
