James Mitchell was born on 27 April 1866 in Dardanup, Western Australia.[1]
He was the 13th Premier of Western Australia (1919 to 1924; and 1930 to 1933), the Lieutenant-Governor of Western Australia for 15 years, and the 22nd Governor of Western Australia from 1948 to 1951.[1]
He married Clara Robinson Spencer in 1888.[1]
James died on 26 July 1951 in Dardanup.[1]
