Colonel Abiel Mitchell served with Bristol County Militia, Massachusetts Militia during the American Revolution.

Abiel Mitchell was born in Bridgewater, Massachusetts in 1733, and died in Easton, Massachusetts, in 1821. His parents are Timothy Mitchell and Deborah Packard.

In 1744, Jonathan Bass of Bridgewater was appointed to be his guardian.[1]

In 1751, Abiel received a distribution from his brother, Timothy Mitchell's estate.[2]

Military Service Revolutionary War Patriot, rank of Colonel. He commanded the first company from Easton at the Lexington Alarm, and served as Colonel of the Bristol County Militia. He married Mary Leonard, born 1740, died 1827 and parents of 7 children. Their daughter Deborah Mitchell married Thomas Willis.
