Mary Ann Hillier was born in Canada. An explicit birth record has not been found, but her birth year was likely in about 1863 based on her age at 8 years old in the 1871 Canada Census and her age at 17 years old in the 1880 United States Census. Both of these census records agree that she was born in Canada, and so do her United States Census records in 1900 and 1920.
