Biography

John was born in Scotland to George and Margaret ^[1][2].

John, his first wife and two children arrived in New Zealand in 1853 aboard the ship Rajah ^[3].

Jane Cramond and John Millar married in New Zealand in 1861 ^[4], and went onto have the following children:

John who was a farmer at the time of his death, died in the Kuri Bush district of Otago, New Zealand on the 19th of April 1895 ^[13][14]. He was buried in Otokia Cemetery, Dunedin. ^[15]

THE Friends of the late John Hogg Millar are respectfully requested to attend his Funeral, which will leave his late residence, Kuri Bush, at 12 o'clock on SUNDAY, the 21st inst., for the Cemetery, Otakaia. ^[16]
