James was born about 1780. He was the son of David Millar and Elizabeth Chrystal. He passed away in 1863. His surname is variously spelt Millar and Miller, the earliest record has been used as his primary name.

DNA

With admittedly distant DNA matches between just one descendant each from James' brother Robert, and sister Margaret, to a small number of descendants (3) of James and Amelia (MILLAR) HENDERSON it is very tempting to identify this James as Amelia's father, BUT the matches seem to be too distant, and too few given how many tested descendants we have for James and Amelia Henderson.
